Re-performing one of the major Chicago landmarks - the Auditorium Building (Adler&Sullivan, 1889). The study proposal celebrates the hybrid programme of the existing Auditorium building. As well as encouring a communication and an interaction between these programmes.
It is an attempt to create a rich interior space - open and dense; spaciously vast and cramped; shared space for various programmes and precisely designed space for particular purpose; light and dark. While at some points the programmes are flowing into each other (smeared), at others - strictly separated. There are moments when the visibility is extremely increased (revealing the backstage or fly tower), as well as moments when spaces are completely closed.
